Who we are

Our website address is: https://theshitinmyhead.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This means that we can block your IP address if you act like a jerk. Please don’t be a jerk.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you send us a 3-minute recording in any manner then we can do what we want with it. The most likely scenario is that we never listen to it because we receive too many to listen to all of them. To improve your chances of being heard, do not threaten violence against specific people or groups of people. Do not use the names of individual politicians or public figures, regardless of how vile their behavior. We don’t want to deal with them either. If you name them, and we accidently post your recording, they will come to us for your information. Just don’t name them. We can’t stop visitors to the website from downloading your recording before we remove it so know that your rant could live on past the intended expiration date. Do not include your name in the audio file or we will bleep over it.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We don’t currently plan to share your data with anyone but things can change. If we get hacked, the hacker will have any data that we have. We apologize in advance if a dastardly hacker is successful. We don’t like them so we spend quite a bit of effort to thwart them but some hackers need to get a life and will keep trying for a ridiculously long time.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. We will do our best to respond quickly because your right to be forgotten is sacred.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Our dream is to use AI tools to screen recordings for ‘the wrong content’ and avoid them getting out. Dreams come true, right? Right?
